Padua eliminates North Olmsted in overtime, 4-3

Bold move does not pan out for Eagles

Sometimes in the state tournament, you have to be bold and believe in the people you have.

Sometimes you need a little bit of puck luck as well.

Selecting its spot in the bracket immediately after Padua, North Olmsted showed it was ready to be bold and trust its players when coach Ben Palocko elected to face the Bruins in the Brooklyn District first round at the annual tournament draw with 17 other slots still open in the bracket.

Unfortunately, the puck luck was not there for the Eagles, as Padua won, 4-3, in overtime on CJ Talion’s rebound goal six minutes into the extra frame on Feb. 13 at Brooklyn’s John M. Coyne Recreation Center.

Amherst Steele Comes From Behind To Claim Baron Cup II Championship

Comets Stun Olmsted Falls, 5-4

BROOKLYN, Ohio- The Olmsted Falls Bulldogs and the Amherst Steele Comets looked to claim the Baron Cup II Championship on Sunday, both teams coming into Championship Sunday playing the best hockey of the season. The Bulldogs were looking to repeat as champions of the White League while Amherst Steele was trying to go from 11-17 the year prior to being amongst the cream of the crop in the GCHSHL.
