Bob Kehres Returns to Benedictine Bench

Previously led Bengals from 1998-2008

Benedictine will have a familiar face guiding its hockey program this coming winter. Bob Kehres, a 1991 graduate of the school, is returning to the Bengals’ bench as coach, the school announced June 4.

Kehres succeeds Joe Primiano, who announced in May he was stepping down after two seasons to spend more time with his family. Kehres’ assistants will be his brother Jim, a 1990 Benedictine graduate, and Brian Carson, who previously served on Primiano’s staff.

Rule Changes Coming in High School Hockey

Risk Minimization Highlights Changes

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (May 16, 2018) — Rules changes related to minimizing risk of injury in high school ice hockey are among five revisions for the 2018-19 season.

The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Ice Hockey Rules Committee recommended the changes at its April 23-24 meeting in Indianapolis, and all changes were subsequently approved by the NFHS Board of Directors.

Strongsville Shuts Out Benedictine, 4-0

Mustangs Take On Lakewood In Second Round Of Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, Ohio- The Benedictine Bengals and the Strongsville Mustangs took the ice on Thursday evening to take part in a first-round battle in the Brooklyn District Tournament. The winner of the matchup would take on the Lakewood Rangers in the second round of the tournament. Both teams made it to the second round of their respective Baron Cup brackets last week. Only one of the teams would make it to the second round of this tournament, however.

That team would be Strongsville, who shut out Benedictine on their way to a 4-0 victory.
