Friday, November 24 – Sunday, November 26 @ Hamilton Ice Arena, Rocky River
Either Hudson, host Rocky River, or both, have been in the championship game of this tournament for nine years running – including five straight years (2010-2014) where the Explorers and Pirates played each other in the final.
There has been great parity at the event in recent years, including the 2016 tournament where every team lost at least once and Hudson defeated Mentor, 6-0, in the final.
Avon Lake | GCHSHL Blue North |
Mentor | GCHSHL Red North |

River and Hudson play their late game (3:45 p.m.) on Saturday against each other in what could, if history serves, decide which team wins the event…Avon has dominated the head-to-head series against Avon Lake in in recent years, but the last two games have been close (1-0 and 4-2 Avon wins). The two neighbors face off in Saturday’s 9:00 p.m. nightcap.
Well…it’s got to be either River or Hudson, right? No other team has won this event since Mentor in 2009. Want a dark horse? How about Midview. They won 22 games last year and played Hudson tough in the Baron Cup (3-2 loss).
