Throughout its first decade of existence, the Nordonia ice hockey team’s primary duty has been simply to establish a program.

As he enters his fourth year in charge of the Knights, coach Rich Cinelli believes now is the time for Nordonia hockey to start growing.

“We’re over a decade old now,” Cinelli said. “The recognition is out there. The program is in the school and we’re starting to get kids to come out. We brought in six freshmen this year, which is replenishing the program. Three of those kids have hockey backgrounds.”

Thus, the Knights have set a goal for themselves: Climb out of the Greater Cleveland High School Hockey League’s Blue South Division.
