Nick Krestan a star scorer for Roosevelt

Roosevelt hockey coach Ben Barlow tells young players all the time the game has to follow them home.

“We just try to reinforce all the time how important it is to work on your skills off the ice,” Barlow said. “Stick-handle at home, shoot pucks at home, play pond hockey as much as possible.”

He’s never had to say anything of the sort to Nick Krestan.

Hockey has always been the Roosevelt junior’s favorite sport.

“Hockey has definitely been number one,” Krestan said. “I don’t think I’ve ever cared about anything more than this sport.”

When he’s not playing for the Rough Riders or the Ohio Prospects, his spring team, he’s shooting 100 pucks a day at home.
