Marco Giambrone scored four goals and junior defenseman Trey Willis collected six assists to lead Columbus St. Charles to an 8-0 win over the host Padua Franciscan Bruins on Day One of the Padua Holiday Hockey Tournament at OBM Arena in Strongsville.
Giambrone, a junior forward for the Cardinals, lit the lamp twice in each of the first two periods. He also had a pair of assists in the game for a six-point night.
In addition to his half-dozen assists, Willis also scored the second goal of the game for St. Charles, giving him seven points on the night.
Cardinals netminder John Martin needed only 11 saves to post the shutout.
Both teams will be at it bright and early on Saturday. Padua (0-1-0/0.0 points) goes up against Olentangy Liberty at 7:20 a.m. while St. Charles (1-0-0/5.0 points) squares off against St. Edward at 7:40 a.m.
