Brush Hockey Ends Regular Season Winning 2 out of 3

Team scores 24 goals over last 3 games

The Brush Arcs Hockey Team finished its regular season by winning two of its last three games over the final weekend of play.  The Barons Cup playoffs are up next.

A 24 goal flurry by the Brush hockey team led them to two victories over Brooklyn  as well as a five goal outburst in a loss to Brecksville.  On Thursday night, Jan 28th, the Arcs stormed up to a 4-0 lead in the first period thanks to goals by Isaac Alexander, Seth Martin, Cam Stovall and Ben Hidek.  After Brooklyn cut the lead to 6-2 early in the third, Ben Hidek scored a natural hat trick in the third to go with his other 3 goals for 6 goals on the night to extend the Arcs lead. David Williams and Aiden Weise closed out the scoring for an 11-2 Arcs victory.

The rematch with Brooklyn occured two nights later on Senior Night for the Arcs. Senior captain Seth Martin, Isaac Alexander, Matt Kendig and Faith Shook were honored before the game.  Ben Hidek's 4 first period tallies and another goal by Isaac Alexander sprinted the Arcs out to a 5-1 lead after the first period. After another goal by Hidek, Aiden Weise and Seth Martin added third period goals in route to the 8-2 victory. Junior goalie Sean Miller made 54 saves over the wins.

The Arcs final regular season game put them up against the Bees from Brecksville. Trailing 8-1, the Arcs put up 4 straight goals, all by Ben Hidek to get within striking distance n the third, but their comeback ran out of time as they dropped the game 9-5. Isaac Alexander had 4 assists in the game as well.

Up next for the Arcs is a date against the Normandy Invaders at the John M. Coyne center in Brooklyn on Monday, February 8th in the opening round of the Barons Cup playoffs.
