Nordonia ice hockey knew that if it could take care of a pair of Greater Cleveland High School Hockey League Blue South foes this weekend, it would set up one of the biggest games in program history.

The Knights did just that and now have their eyes focused on the prize.

Nordonia defeated Brush 10-2 Brush Saturday at the Cleveland Heights Recreation Center, followed by a 7-2 win over Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin Sunday at Gilmour Academy.

With the wins, Nordonia improved to 10-11-1, 8-0-1 in the Blue South.

The victory sets up a de facto Blue South championship game, as Nordonia will host Mayfield Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Gilmour Academy. Mayfield also comes into the game at 8-0-1 in the Blue South.
