The Green Wave of Holy Name jumped back into the Top 10 in this week’s Ohio High School Hockey Coach’s Poll, displacing Toledo St. Francis.
The Namers, who appeared in the Top 10 for one week in December, impressed voters with a 5-3 win over #6 Olentangy Liberty in their final game of the Cleveland Jesuit Classic on Sunday.
Sylvania Northview and St. Charles switched the 8-9 places this week, but the 1-7 spots remain unchanged.
As a matter of fact, the top seven teams have not changed for five weeks, although their have been a few minor changes in their order in that time.
The 25-1-1 Mentor Cardinals (#7) have not been able to move into the top six all season despite the four teams directly ahead of them suffering losses over the MLK weekend.
As firm as the top seven places have become, the top three are even more set in stone. Saint Ignatius, Upper Arlington and Gilmour Academy were listed 1-2-3 on all nine of the ballots submitted.
