Part of Amherst's well-oiled machine

Joey and Jacob Kramer will be the first to tell you they're just cogs in Amherst hockey coach Steve Morris’ machine ... even though they're putting up numbers that have rarely been seen in Ohio high school hockey.

The two-time defending Baron Cup champion Comets play a grinding system of hockey, trapping between the blue lines and cycling below the goal line in the offensive zone. They strive to outwork their opponents and use their system to create opportunities on the ice.

It's reminiscent of how Denzel Washington explains his team’s simplistic offensive system in the football movie “Remember the Titans” in which he claims about his veer offense, "It’s like novocaine ... give it time, it always works.”
