The Saint Ignatius Wildcats are still the top team in the Ohio High School Hockey Coach’s Poll but, for the first time in three weeks, their position was not unanimous.
Upper Arlington received a single first-place vote in the first poll of the season. That was the only first-place vote cast all season that did not go to the Wildcats until this week when UA was at the top of the ballot for two voters. The Golden Bears remain at #2, followed by Gilmour Academy and Olentangy Liberty, both of which also hold the same ranking as last week.
Changes occurred further down the rankings, however, including St. Edward (now #5) swapping places with #6 Toledo St. John’s.
St. Charles, which debuted at #10 last week, has now moved up into a tie with Sylvania Northview for the eighth spot, pushing University School down to #10.
