Saint Ignatius remains in top spot

Saint Ignatius kept their #1 ranking in the Ohio High School Hockey Poll this week, but there was some movement behind the Wildcats.

Upper Arlington won the Padua Holiday Hockey Tournament over the weekend, defeating three ranked teams including Olentangy Liberty in the championship game.

As a result the Golden Bears (now #2) and Patriots (#4)  switched places in the rankings, moving around Gilmour Academy, which held firm at #3.

#6 St. Edward defeated #5 Toledo St. John's twice last week but for some reason the Titans remain one spot ahead of the Eagles this week...

The Mentor Cardinals, who have established themselves as the team to beat in the Greater Cleveland High School Hockey League, are #7, followed by University School, which remains in the top 10 despite an 0-4 showing at the Padua Tournament.

The Green Wave of Holy Name debut at #9 in the poll after finishing third at the Padua Tournament with wins over two ranked teams - St. Francis and Northview - who, coincidentally, tied for the 10th and final spot in this week's poll.
