Anthony Wayne hockey picked to win title over Clay

Last winter, the Anthony Wayne hockey team mounted one of the best campaigns in the program's history, and the Generals have nearly all of those weapons back.

Anthony Wayne posted a 26-2 record and won the Northwest Hockey Conference National Division title with a perfect 11-0 mark. The Generals have 16 players returning from that team, including five seniors.

In a preseason coaches poll, Anthony Wayne was tabbed as the favorites to repeat, receiving three of the six first-place votes. Clay (29-5) was a very close second, also earning three first-place votes. Southview was picked third followed by Perrysburg, Whitmer, and Maumee.
