If regular season is indicative, field is plethora of parity

If you want parity, this year’s Baron Cup I bracket is seemingly the place to be.

The Greater Cleveland High School Hockey League Red Division’s city championship tournament kicks off Feb. 7 at Brooklyn with as much doubt over who could reign on Baron Cup Sunday as arguably there has been since the defection of the former “old Red North” squads to form the Great Lakes Hockey League.

Lang game-winner downs Roosevelt to Heights’ delight

Cleveland Heights 4, Kent Roosevelt 2

Inconsistent play and a lack of scoring resulted in the Roosevelt Rough Riders dropping a 4-2 decision to the Cleveland Heights Tigers at Kent State Ice Arena Thursday night.

After falling behind in the opening period, the Rough Riders rallied in the second frame, only to allow the Tigers to score the game-winning goal and add an empty-net goal in the final period of the Red South Division matchup of the Greater Cleveland High School Hockey League (GCHSHL).
