BROOKLYN, Ohio – The No. 2-seed Holy Name Green Wave dealt the No. 4-seed Pirates a 5-3 defeat, ending Rocky River’s bracket march – and season – on Wednesday night at Brooklyn Recreation Center.
The Green Wave (23-9-4) climbed out of a 3-1 hole late in the second period and would score four unanswered goals in advancing in Ohio Championship Tournament play. Holy Name broke free from a 3-3 tie mid-third and then added a late empty-net goal, extending what is now a seven-game unbeaten streak. The Green Wave are 6-0-1 since Jan. 27.
