River comes back for Red Division win over Kenston

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – The Pirates’ breaking free from a scoring slump had nothing to do with a remarkable shot. Or a power-play binge. Or, in fact, nothing to do with even the net and the pipe-work holding it together. In Friday’s third period of a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Kenston, Rocky River’s breakthrough – scoring three goals in seven minutes — came in the rounded corners of the rink. Along the sideboards. Along the end-boards behind the Kenston net. In and around each corner. With sticks, skates and pads clattering, clacking and thudding against the boards, the ice, and the puck, not to mention more sticks and skates.
