Alexander leads Patriots in CBJ Cup re-match against Jerome

Saturday, March 3, 6:00 p.m. @ IceHaus (Nationwide Arena) 200 W. Nationwide Blvd.

1. Dublin Jerome (29-6-3, ranked #6 in Ohio) vs.
2. Olentangy Liberty (27-6-3, ranked #10 in Ohio)

Top-seeded Dublin Jerome faces #2 seed Olentangy Liberty this evening in the Columbus District Final at IceHaus.

Jerome enters the game on a 13-game winning streak that includes a four-overtime scare against Springboro in the district quarterfinal.  The Celtics have been in the Ohio High School Hockey Poll’s Top 10 every week this season, and claimed their eighth CBJ Cup championship with a 3-1 win over Liberty on February 15.

Olentangy Liberty is also a Top Ten team in the state, and have been playing some great late-season hockey in their own right.  They have won 10 of their last 11 games with the loss to Jerome in the CBJ Cup Final the only blemish on their record in that time.

Kevin Alexander, who was serving as Jack Hoogeveen’s co-coach since the start of the season, assumed sole possession of the head coaching duties following Hoogeveen’s resignation last week.

Jerome has won three of five games against Liberty this season, winning the last three meetings.

Trent Belli, Carter Patchett and Nick Augenstein have been the top producers for the Celtics this season.  Patchett scored all three goals in the league championship win over Liberty.

Ron Ambrosia and Aidan King are a couple of the players to keep an eye on for the Patriots.
