Top-seeded Jerome riding 12-game win streak

All games at IceHaus (Nationwide Arena) 200 W. Nationwide Blvd.
(District championship game is March 3 @ 6:00 p.m.)

Early-round highlights
Dublin Jerome’s 4-OT affair against Springboro yesterday was a little more excitement than the #1 seed was probably looking for.  ‘Boro went two OTs in the previous round, defeating Elder, 3-2.  Moeller faced a test of their own in the round of 16, sneaking past Dublin Coffman, 3-2.  Upper Arlington also advanced in a squeaker yesterday, 1-0 over St. Charles.

Sunday, Feb. 25 @ 3:45 p.m.

1. Dublin Jerome (28-6-3, ranked #6 in Ohio) vs.
3. Upper Arlington (16-17-1)

Top-seeded Dublin Jerome enters the Columbus District Semifinal coming off a four-overtime classic against Springboro last night that extended their winning streak to 12 games.  Playing that much hockey is the obvious concern turning around and playing the early game today…The Celtics, 2018 CBJ Cup champions, have been in the Top 10 every week this season…Jerome defeated Upper Arlington in both of their regular season meetings this year…Upper Arlington had their own challenge yesterday, sneaking past St. Charles in a 1-0 affair, and they only had to play 45 minutes, but it’s kind of hard to go against Jerome in this one tired legs or not.  UA’s two district tournament wins (they defeated Centerville 3-0 in the first round) are their first back-to-back wins since before Christmas.

Sunday, Feb. 25 @ 5:45 p.m.

2. Olentangy Liberty (26-6-3, ranked #10 in Ohio) vs.
4. Archbishop Moeller (24-9-0)

Olentangy Liberty comes into the district semifinal with wins in nine of their last 10 games.  They had some quality wins in that span – two each against Upper Arlington and St. Charles – and their only loss was to top-seeded Dublin Jerome (3-1) in the CBJ Cup Final…Moeller is enjoying a hockey resurgence this year with 24 wins and the Capital Hockey Conference White Division regular season title.  They defeated Upper Arlington in a CBJ Cup quarterfinal game before being eliminated by Dublin Jerome – their only loss in the last seven games…Liberty defeated Moeller, 7-1, in their only meeting of the season just before Christmas.
