1. Toledo St. Francis (20-2-0, ranked #2 in Ohio) vs.
4. Findlay (12-9-1)

The Knights of Toledo St. Francis enter district play as the #2 ranked team in the state.  Due to the small field of teams in the Sylvania District, they have not played since a 12-0 win over Maumee on February 17.  A 10-0 win over Sylvania Northview preceded that in their regular season finale on February 11.  That’s just two both blowout wins in the last 12 days, so the Knights may not be coming into this match-up in the most battle-tested part of their season.  They have, however, been averaging almost six goals per game on the season and defeated Findlay in both of their league games this season – each time by a score of 4-1.  That, and their #2 ranking in the state, makes it hard to predict anything but a win for the Knights as they go after their fourth consecutive district title.  They have not lost since a 6-1 setback at the hands of #1 Saint Ignatius at the Padua Holiday Hockey Tournament.  Findlay certainly won’t be rolling over in this one, though.  The Trojans have had some positive results this season, including a win over #8 Holy Name and a pair of one-goal losses to #3 University School.

2. Sylvania Northview (16-15-2, ranked #7 in Ohio) vs.
3. Toledo St. John’s (14-11-5)

This should be a dandy…Sylvania Northview and Toledo St. John’s are Northwest Hockey Conference Red Division rivals with similar records, and are seeded 2-3 in this bracket.  Additionally, the Wildcats and Titans split their two league games with each team notching a one-goal win.  St. John’s posted a 3-2 victory in their most recent meeting on February 2.  David Crandall (27), Justin Maroszek (24) and Brandon Clark (21) have all hit the 20-goal plateau for the Wildcats while Mason Snyder (2.74/.903) and Tyler Beattie (2.62/.884) have both provided solid play in goal.
