BROOKLYN, Ohio – Rocky River didn’t really get rolling until the third period of the game, but the Pirates prevailed in Tuesday’s second-round district tournament contest, shutting out Avon Lake, 6-0.

With its ninth win in a row, Rocky River (23-10) now advances to a Saturday district semifinal against St. Ignatius (2 p.m., John M. Coyne Recreation Center).
