Jake Evans had dreamed for four months about the moment he would take the ice for the Upper Arlington High School hockey team, but part of him still wasn’t ready Jan. 20 as the Golden Bears prepared to play New Albany at OhioHealth Ice Haus.

So when coach David Clarkson sprung the news on Evans a few minutes before faceoff that he would start, the senior forward had little time to process his emotions before instinct took over.
