Woodward kicks out 23 of 24 shots in Trojans win

Jackson Schmits figured in three of four Findlay goals and netminder Storm Woodward allowed just one of 24 shots to elude him as the Trojans defeated the host Padua Franciscan Bruins, 4-1, to kick off Day Two of the Padua Holiday Hockey Tournament.

Trenton Cramer’s power play goal put Padua on the board 5:33 into the third period, but the Trojans scored twice in the final 4:25 of the game to win the period, 2-1, and sweep all five possible points in the tournament standings.

Nick Harris kept the Bruins in the game as long as he could, making 36 saves.

Nick Iler, Reid Perry and Jordan Goeb were the other goal scorers for Findlay (1-1-0/6.0).  They are back on the ice at 7:00 p.m. to face Upper Arlington

Padua (0-2-0/0.0) faces St. Charles at 5:00 p.m.
