Northview, St. Francis throw the records out the window

SEASON SERIES: 2-0-0 Northview (4-3, 3-2)

1. NORTHVIEW WILDCATS (23-8-3, 10-1-1 RED DIVISION, 1ST)

REGIONAL RESULTS:
Northview 10, Whitmer 0
Northview 4, Bowling Green 0

The Northview Wildcats have yet to give up a goal this entire OHSAA Regional so far. They have outscored their opponents 14-0 in the tournament with no signs of slowing down, led by Drake Symbolik, the 2nd highest scorer in the Northwest Hockey Conference. He has scored 27 points, with 14 goals and 13 assists, in 12 games of league play. Seven of their players are producing a point-per-game or more – including five players above 1.5 PPG. This includes three players who have scored 20 or more points in NHC games. In goal, the Wildcats are led by Austin Nowak. Nowak is in his senior year, is Northview’s all-time leader in shutouts with 20, and broke the single-season record with nine. Nowak has saved around 94% of the shots he has faced this season and looks to bring Northview the state championship

2. ST. FRANCIS KNIGHTS (19-13-1, 9-3-0 RED DIVISION, T2ND)

REGIONAL RESULTS:
St. Francis 9, Anthony Wayne 3
St. Francis 1, St. John’s 0

St. Francis is looking to keep their streak of making it to the state championship alive with a win against Northview. St. Francis just came off a tense game against St. John’s that ended 1-0, and now they face a Top-5 team in the state. The Knights are led by Andrew Tucker, who leads the NHC in points with 31 (16 goals, 15 assists) in 12 games. They also have Jacob Myers who has 18 points (13 goals, 5 assists) in 12 games. The Knights have another three players who have a point-per-game or more. St Francis has not lost since February 5th, and it was only a one-goal loss to Columbus Bracket favorite Olentangy Liberty. Both times these two teams have played, St Francis has lost by one to the Wildcats. This time, they look to change that and be on the winning side.
