As the calendar flipped to 2022, five current Ohio AAA Blue Jacket players and one recent alumnus earned Junior hockey call-ups.

On New Year's Eve, 2002-born goaltender Michael Sochan earned a promotion from the Utica Comets (NCDC) and was added to the roster of the Tri-City Storm (USHL).

Last year, Sochan posted a 20-12-4 record, .922 save percentage and 2.01 GAA. He helped lead the AAA OBJ 18U team to a Mid-AM district championship and quarterfinal berth at the USA Hockey National Championships.
