Gilmour Academy adds full-season 16U team
New team will compete at Tier 1 AAA level
Gilmour Academy is adding a 16U Tier 1 AAA team to their program beginning with the 2020-21 season.
The team is open to local, national and international student-athletes and will play a 45-50-game Tier 1 National Bound schedule against 16U Tier 1 teams and prep schools from across North America.
They will compete at the Mid-Am District Tournament for a bid to USA Hockey’s Tier 1 National Championships.
Gilmour’s director of hockey Michael Chiellino says the team will fit right into the GA hockey program:
“We felt it was a great opportunity to build off the success that we had with our prep and varsity teams,” said Chiellino. “It will provide an option for younger kids interested in the prep school experience combining high-level hockey with high-end academics.”
