Diego Pitones wonders what might have been as well as what the future holds for the St. Charles hockey team.
The Cardinals had one final practice March 2 at OhioHealth Ice Haus, and the junior forward welled up with emotion.
Two days earlier, second-seeded St. Charles lost to sixth-seeded Olentangy Orange 4-1 in a district quarterfinal, ending the season sooner than the Cardinals expected. With the practice, Pitones got one last skate with his friends and mentors in the senior class.
