Division crowded with SWC teams

The Amherst Steele Comets returned to varsity action in 2016 following a four-year hiatus.  After an 11-17-0 showing in their return to the Greater Cleveland High School Hockey League, they went on to dominate the White North Division the last two years, running up an overall record of 62-6-0; 22-1-0 in league play.

The Comets have also won the last two Baron Cup II tournaments, defeating Olmsted Falls in 2018 and Midview last year.

The Middies did not ice a team this season, and it remains to be seen which team will emerge as the primary challengers to the Comets in the six-team grouping, but it is fair to say the White North belongs to Amherst until another team takes it from them.

Will Olmsted Falls give them another challenge?

How about the Avon Eagles?

Avon Lake put a score into them last week in a 2-1 Comets win.

North Olmsted and Kent Roosevelt won have any trouble getting up for games against Amherst either.

The White North Division will be an interesting race for sure this year.
