St. Edward Begins Transition to New Regime

Sullivan, staff, assume reigns of 11-time state champs

LAKEWOOD – Under an entirely new coaching regime, St. Edward hockey has been practicing Monday nights here in Serpentini-Winterhurst Arena.

Tim Sullivan, who was the only head coach Holy Name has ever known in the modern era, made the jump this spring to become head coach at his alma mater, St. Edward.

“It’s a good transition so far,” said Sullivan this past Monday. “This is our third practice so this is good.”

In addition to Sullivan’s leaping over to St. Edward, nearly his entire staff with the Green Wave followed him, some of them being St. Ed’s grads themselves.

“I left it up to the guys,” Sullivan explained. “I left it up to my coaches. We met, talked about it. Of course I would have loved to have them with me. How we worked together was something special. I left the decision up to them and they all decided to stay as a group, which is great.”
