SOLON COMETS

The Solon Comets jumped out to a strong start this season, winning a league game over Aurora, 4-3, in their season opener, then winning their first game at the Tim Alexander Memorial at Rocky River, 4-2, over the Avon Lake Shoremen.  Those two wins brought them two-thirds of the way to their win total from all of last season when they scuffled to a 3-21-1 record.

The Comets lost their next three games at the tournament, however, then followed that up with another 1-3-0 showing at the Adam Hamilton Memorial Tournament, giving them just one win in their last seven games (1-6-0).

Solon will slow things down for the next few weeks.  They will play just one game each of the next two weekends – league contests against Canfield and Parma – before returning to the ice to host their holiday tournament right after Christmas.

The Comets are not taking an easy path as they try to win the Solon Holiday Tournament for the first time since 2015.  They will play White North Division teams North Olmsted and Olmsted Falls as well as Kenston of the Red Division.
