Wildcats move into top spot in East Division

Joey Trobenter scored twice, Michael Boehm dished out three assists, and the Saint Ignatius Wildcats defeated Olentangy Liberty, 5-1, to take over first place in the East Division of the Padua Holiday Hockey Tournament.

The game was scoreless until late in the second period, but the Wildcats went out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Greg Langermeier and Michael McCaffrey in the final four minutes of the frame.

Harrison Schweitzer got the Patriots within a goal when he scored 1:45 into the third period, but a three-goal out-burst put the game away for Saint Ignatius, as Trobenter sandwiched his two goals around a Connor McGowan tally.

Nick Bernstein handled 14 of 15 shots for Saint Ignatius (2-0-0/8.5) while David Dew made 25 saves for Liberty (1-1-0/4.5).
